 REVISION: PASSIVE VOICE
I. Aims:
- After the lesson, students can:
 + Revise the uses and the forms of passive voice.
 + Revise the types of passive voice.
 + Do some exercises related to passive voice effectively.
II. Languages focus:
 + Language focus about passive voice.
III. Teaching material.
 + Posters, word cards, handouts, worksheets, ...
IV. Procedures:

 I. Warm up - Play game: “Relay race” 
 5’ - Let Ss see some sentences and then stick the form of the passive 
 sentences on the poster. (Work in 4 groups)
 1.This flower is watered every morning.
 2.The dinner is being prepared in the kitchen.
 3. The house has been cleaned since you left. Play game
 4. Fiona was invented to John's birthday party last night 
 5. Dinner was being cooked at 5 p.m yesterday.
 6. My homework had been finished before I went out.

 9. My report will have been finished by the end of this month

 Note:
 * Adverbs of place are in front of “By + agent” 
 * Adverbs of time are after “By + agent” 
 * Subjects are “They , people, someone, somebody, everyone, 
 everybody” we can drop it + By + agent 
 - Ask Students to do exercise 2 individually, then give the answer. Do exercise 2 individually.
 Ex2: Change the following sentences into passive voice. Answer key:
5’ 1. John invited Fiona to his birthday party last night. 1.Fiona was invented to John's birthday

8’ III. THE SPECIAL PASSIVE STRUCTURES:
 Give some examples about the special passive structures and ask 
 students to identify the special passive structures .
 1. Verb with two objects:
 Ex: He gave the police the information .
 He gave the information to the police .
 =>The police were given the information .
 =>The information was given to the police .
 2. Verb + object + to-infinitive:
 Ex: He wants someone to take photographs . - Identify the special passive structures
 =>He wants photographs to be taken.
 Subject + verb + object + to be + V(pp)
 *Verbs: like , hate , love , want , prefer - Listen and remember.
 3. Verb + object + bare-infinitive:
 Ex: We saw them go out of the house .
 =>They were seen to go out of the house.
 Subject + passive verb + to-infinitive
 *Verbs: feel , see , watch, notice , hear, make , help
 4. Verb + object + gerund:
 Ex: She doesn’t like people laughing at her.
